John 3:15 God so loved the world He gave His only son whomever believe in Him shall have eternal life
Matthew 1:23 Angel told Mary she will bear a son and call him Emmanuel meaning God with us
2 Corinthians 5:21 he that had no sin became sin for us
He gave us what we needed before we needed it.
God created hell for the fallen angels to live eternally in the lake of fire and gnashing of teeth with no way out.
Hell was never intended for us yet we daily do not choose God, conform to worldly ways and compromise our salvation for a bowl of stew. Genesis 25:29-34
What is our bowl of stew?
What are we selling our birthright for? What or who are we holding higher or more of a priority than God? What are we conforming to in life? At first we want to respond by saying this message is not for me but if we look deeper, when we examine our lives and priorities we will see where our treasure is.
The bible says where our treasure is there our hearts are also. Jesus said one thing He holds against us that we lost the love we first had for Him. Our treasure might be our kids or family. Might be our husband or waiting for our husband wondering who he is and where he’s at. Might even be a ministry.
Then, even deeper the Lord could be calling us to a business or career and we 100% prioritize ministry which in reality is half obedience. Half obedience is disobedience. So in self introspection what is our bowl of stew? Our priorities or distractions keeping us from our first love?
After finding out what it is, that is when after repenting let’s get back in alignment with what God is asking us to do. In these years of covid keeping us at home, closing the world down have we really learned the lesson He is trying to teach us?
Has it brought us together as a people or caused more division? Have we truly been at home in the presence of the Lord seeking His face or can’t wait for things to get back to normal? What have we learned through Covid? Have we gone deeper in God or even more distracted on things we are not called to? It’s time for the children of God to choose Him to rely on Him, to trust Him and keep our confidence and assurance in Him.
We often say…. I would have never done that to God like the Israelites turning their backs on Him and worshiping idols. Yet , we do it everyday! What is our bowl of stew and what is our choice of idols? Once they are revealed just like king Josiah in 2 kings 22 we need to knock them all down one by one, eradicate them and get back to being the prayer warriors we are meant to be staying on the wall. God bless you
