Last week on Tuesday Tea TIme With The Lord we discussed people pleasing rather than pleasing God. Powerful Word and so needed. A lot of us people of God are conforming to the ways of the world and need to get back to pleasing God. We both encourage you to go back and listen.

On today, we are going on to the topic: It’s Only A Mirage. I start off with a story. When my daughter Kamea was 2 we went to a grocery store with some friends. She was telling me to let Kamea down and walk. I tried to set her down to walk but she was terrified of the floor. It was really shiny and it looked like water. I picked her up and this friend told me no! She needs to learn! Put her on the floor. Unfortunately I gave this person too much say and tried to put her down but was fighting me crying. A lady in the camera department was watching us and picked up the phone.

I thought she was calling the store manager as my daughter was throwing a fit. Again, unfortunately she called the cops. Kamea being mixed and looking like she was fighting me the lady thought I was trying to kidnap her. The cops came and questioned me and wouldn’t let me leave. Took down all my information and wanted the dad’s information. I had to call my ex and have him talk to the police. They almost took her away from me and almost took me to jail!  How many of us have been that person who has called and said better safe than sorry? I know I have! But, if we get involved and ask questions we might just learn a little more information and not make decisions that can affect people’s world. Looking in not knowing everything, coming up with a conclusion can be more damaging then inquiring what’s happening.

In another season in my walk with Christ I got some wrong information asking me to look into people’s eyes. Do I see Jesus? What do I see? On the surface it appeared to be teaching me about intercessory and how to pray but really deeply hidden and rooted was judgement. When a lot of those same people speak I’m shocked to hear fire filled anointed prayers. That was a huge lesson and very humbling. Like with the same boiling water, it can either harden an egg or soften a potato; it all lies in the content on the inside. But who are we to judge? Only God knows the heart of man. We cannot judge by outer appearances, what things look like or what is in people’s eyes. We have to test the spirit by the spirit.

We find that in 1 John 4:1-6. Jesus said we will know we are His by His love. We find that in John 13:35. I learned about mirages from my dad when I was younger and we were driving  to Fresno. Looked like a big puddle of water,  but I came to find out there was nothing there! What mirages are in your life, in your relationships, in your mind and heart that has no evidence of being true? What mirages when you have examined and looked for fruit of the Lord or by testing the spirit has not proven to be real? I know I am not the only one in life that was fooled by a mirage in my world thinking something is real, true, of God and come to find out later it wasn’t. On one hand, I feel like time is wasted. What have I done?

But, then I have to remind myself He already knew I was gonna do that. He went up ahead of me making provisions and changes for me and my good. For He is a good, good Father! True to His promises, true to His word and not a respecter of persons. When we make mistakes, fall down and bruise our egos our Daddy is there waiting for us like the prodigal son with open arms, a signet ring symbolizing we are in His family and has a party celebrating our return! Let’s take some time to reflect on what areas, what relationships, what situations we need to re release back to the Father humbly seeking His forgiveness, grace, mercy, wisdom, discernment, knowledge and truth. God bless you
