Last week on Tuesday Tea Time with the Lord we had ended the discussion speaking on Thorns and the ones we create for ourselves! Powerful! If you missed it I encourage you to go back and watch. This week Evangelist Maple and myself go onto another topic!
Our topic for today is:
Resurrection Power!
I start off with a story! I was out walking buster and he saw something rustling in the grass thinking it was a threat to me. He attacked it and grabbed it with his teeth. When he saw it wasn’t a threat, he let it go. I looked and I saw a baby bird or what appeared to be. The bird had feathers and was hopping around searching for food. I remembered what my dad taught me! To never touch a baby bird as the mom smelling the human on it will reject it and let it die! I watched the bird and figured if it was a baby he would be dependent on the mom to feed. He was looking for seeds. I figured it was a species of small birds. Thinking it wasn’t a baby and can sustain himself I picked it up to check him out.
I didn’t see blood and he looked ok. I had to walk buster so I told Precious (yes I named him) I would be back as I had no box to keep it in, wanting to take care of it to make sure he was ok. Well, when we came back, there was no Precious! I looked everywhere! Nothing! I figured he finally hopped or flew away and it was a good sign! The next day I was walking buster and there was precious dead on the grass. Buster smelled it and was so sad. I said I’m so sorry Precious! I shouldn’t have touched you! I felt really bad that I even messed with it! Sometimes in life, we think we are helping when we are actually making things worse! That leads me to Mary and Martha with the story of Lazarus! We find that in John 11. They called for Jesus to come but he waited 2 days.
How many of us when we pray to God and see no movement try another tactic or plan to try to make things happen faster? Then when Jesus showed up 2 days later Mary grieving stayed at home not going out to greet Jesus! How many if we are honest with ourselves have given up hope and stopped bringing and keeping it in God’s hand as we see nothing happening? Even Martha spoke to Him saying, “ If He was there this would not have happened’ speaking of Gods resurrection healing power as an event! When Jesus said He is the resurrection and life which led Martha to speak on how he will rise again at the end of the age and Jesus shows them that resurrection is not an event but a person!!! When we pray to Jesus are we really believing His resurrection power as an authority given to us from the Lord from His blood? Most christians will tell us yes they are! But are we really grabbing hold of His power and authority or having the mindset that we will find our healing in heaven whether we are talking about sickness, disease, healing of hearts or even restoring finances, relationships and careers?
What is in our lives that needs Jesus’ resurrection power to bring back to life? Nothing is impossible for Him and nothing is deemed insignificant! How many of us have prayed for other people and with our own eyes seen the miraculous healing power but then when it comes to believing and expecting that same power to manifest in our own situation deep down in our hearts and minds doubt and struggle to believe He will for us? If we are transparent and honest people in the 5 fold do not doubt His power authority and ability for the impossible but then secretly when it comes to our own situations doubt that He will do it for us? Don’t believe me? How many of us in ministry struggle with pain, disease, cancer, even sick loved ones seeing how Jesus healed before but then when it comes close in our own lives wonder if He’s willing and will do it for us? At first glance, one would say it stems with lack of faith and struggle with doubt. But, I think it stems from something deeper and more personal. I believe it stems from things that we have been through, how we were taught, etc. What do I mean? I think It stems from feeling inadequate! Unworthy! Feelings of deep rooted shame, guilt even to the point of some of us doubting he chooses to use us at all.
Not that He can’t but saying they don’t believe HE chooses THEM to do it. In reality, children of God, that is really telling Him in a sense that He made a mistake or got it wrong this time which is impossible Him being Almighty All knowing and All powerful. That leads me to the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-29! Where, she deals with the issue for 12 years exhausting her bank account going to many doctors that cant help her. Subject to being claimed as unclean, ostracized and thought of her as not worthy of God’s help. But, she in desperation fought through the crowds, obstacles in her mind and went straight to the source for help! The enemy wants us to focus on the evidence! but it’s not about what you can see. It’s about what you can’t see! Because what we can see is temporary! What we can’t see is eternal! Jesus wants us to cling to the truth that we cannot see!
Jesus says I am the Resurrection and the Life! The one who believes in me will live, even though they die! He is asking you today, do you believe this? Jesus, being deeply moved, told them to roll away the stone and Martha told him he had been dead four days and the odor would be bad. That did not stop Him! What in your own life has been dead and stinking a bad stench that seems impossible for the Lord to change? What needs to be Restored? Renewed and Healed? He is the potter, we are the clay! When we have a malfunction with something we bought, where do we take it?
Back to the creator! In Ezekial 37:1-14 we find the Lord telling Ezekial to prophesy to the dry bones! Is there anything in your life that seems to be dried up and too far gone? The Lord had him prophesy to those bones to live, to attaching tendons, flesh and skin! For the breath he called on the four winds and breathed into the slain and it was so! Absolutely nothing is too far gone or impossible with Christ! In fact, He is the God of the impossible and makes ways out of no ways! He is not a man that should lie and is no respecter of persons! What needs resurrecting? What needs life? Breath? Bones that need new breath? We need to repent and resubmit things in our lives back to the Father. Whether it is a dream, plan, marriage, relationship, job, children, health, salvation for family members.
We have a bad habit of trying to do the Holy Spirit’s job and most times just like precious, the bird, we make matters worse chasing those people further from God rather than closer! As a parent I have done that way too many times where the Lord ripped them away from me and when they were ripped away? The Holy Spirit had the wiggle room to live, move, mold, shape and woo them back to the Father allowing them to build their own personal relationship with Him!
Heavenly Father we come before you today thanking you for this time in your presence, this word and exposing all things for our good. We repent all things to you, getting in the way of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We turn, handing things back, putting them on your altar calling forth your resurrection power to all things concerning us: our bodies, jobs, relationships and health just to name a few. Have your way in our lives, bodies, hearts, relationships and concerning all areas in our lives. As we go through our week help us have eyes to see, ears to hear, a heart to receive and feet of faith to move in it whether you are asking us to be still and know or to leap in Jesus mighty name amen.
What do you think? Can these bones live again with the Lord’s Resurrection Power?
